Apply by 27th September, 2018!
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the Sciurid Lab (Nandini Rajamani's lab) at IISER Tirupati. The opening is primarily in the areas of evolutionary genomics and animal behaviour, though the nature of the project is flexible. The lab currently focuses on understanding how species respond to change by studying adaptations and behaviours, using field observations and genomic approaches. Currently one ongoing project focuses on small mammals (marmots and pikas) in the Trans-Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir, and another examines palm squirrels in the Western Ghats of South India. Postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to develop independent areas of research within these projects. While the selected candidate will spend most of her/his time in the lab at IISER Tirupati and in those of collaborators, he/she will also travel to the field sites as required.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong background in molecular evolution and genomics and/or experience with field-based behaviour and capture with small mammal systems. The position is open for a year, extendable to two.
